Nothing will warm you up like a knitted hat with earflaps. Let's look at a master class on knitting a hat with earflaps for women, let's try to knit a male and a children's model of such a headdress for a boy and a girl. Scheme and step-by-step photos are attached.

Master class on knitting hats with earflaps for women

A women's hat is knitted from one skein of thread. Although it all depends on the knitted density of the hat with earflaps. You will also need knitting needles number 3, which will make the product quite dense and warm. If you are comfortable working with circular knitting needles, then use them.

The knitting master class for women will begin with a set of six stitches from which garter stitch is made. In new lines, the links should be increased by one piece on both sides. Continue knitting until the number of links increases from six to twenty. There is no need to make additions after this. Continue to complete the master class until the length of the eyelet that you need. The photo shows this stage of work.

Then the main part of the product begins. To do this, cast on seventeen buttonholes with knitting needles, then grab twenty pieces for the first eye, and then there are thirty-seven pieces of the central part and twenty loops of the second eye. Add 17 additional buttonholes. The four stripes need to be knitted again using garter stitch. The number of stripes should be equal to the depth of the hat with earflaps. You can do knitting like knitting. loops, and the pattern you like. In the photo you can see the knitted star pattern. For beginning needlewomen, this pattern will be very easy to repeat. In each line you need to knit 2 faces. p., then 3 p. are performed as one knit stitch, yarn over and knit 1 again. etc. Such manipulations must be performed to the very end, completing the row with a purl loop.

Now let's start knitting the upper part of the hat with earflaps. The master class involves knitting only faces. loops, as well as reducing them on the sides. Simply put, you must knit the loops together until their total number reaches thirteen. After this, you need to pull them together and make a connecting seam on the back of the hat. The lapel of the headdress is very simple to do. Cast on thirty-three loops along the edge of the frontal part of the product and tie them face down to the desired height, as shown in the photo.

For beauty, make 2 stitches in the last lapel strip and close the links. Decorate the hat with knitted flowers. As you have already seen, a hat with earflaps for women is very simple and quick to make.

Knitted men's hat with earflaps

The next master class will teach you how to knit a men's earflap hat. The scheme of work will also appeal to beginning needlewomen. In your work, use yarn consisting of wool and acrylic, as well as knitting needles number 4. Garter stitch is performed by alternating knit and purl rows with knit stitches.

Cast on twelve links and knit in the manner described above, adding one piece to each strip on both sides until you have twenty buttonholes. Next, knit 16 r. in a straight line. Start a new row by casting on eight buttonholes, and then knitting another twenty-two rows in a straight line. Set the work aside and complete the second eyelet in the same way.

To knit the visor, you need to cast on twenty-two loops and also make the pattern described above, adding two pieces to each strip on both sides. You should have a total number of buttonholes - thirty pieces. Then knit twenty-six r. in a straight line, as shown in the photo.

The men's hat with earflaps is not finished yet. You also need to connect the blanks according to this diagram: the right ear with the visor and with the left ear. Knit straight forty r. In the first strip, you should cross the loops at their junctions to avoid the formation of holes. Then make a uniform decrease in every 2 r. seven buttonholes each. You should have nine left. Pull them together with thread, and then make a seam by bending the visor. The edges of the earflap hat should be crocheted with single crochets. This completes the master class, and a simple men's earflap hat is completely ready.

Knitting a baby hat

A children's hat with earflaps is knitted for a boy in the same way as for a girl. The only difference is the choice of yarn color, as well as the creation of a beautiful decor that little fashionistas love. Therefore, we offer you a short lesson on knitting a headdress for a boy. The children's work scheme will be clear even to beginners.

Cast on seventy-two buttonholes using size 3 needles. Next, knit an elastic band two by two. Its height should be fifteen centimeters. Then knit 3 purls together in the new strip. p. Then knit 2 knits together. p. You should have an elastic band one on one. In the fifth row, follow the pattern according to the drawing. In the sixth, you need to knit all the buttonholes in two pieces. Transfer unused links to an additional tool and tighten them.

For the ears, you need to cast on five pieces with knitting needles number 4 and knit using the garter method. In the third, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh row, add 1 stitch on each side. Then knit fifteen lines again in garter stitch. Having set aside one workpiece, proceed to the second. Between the finished ears, you should cast on ten yarn overs and switch to knitting needles number 3. In the first line, add 3 stitches from each side and knit a two-by-two elastic band. Having completed four centimeters, close the links.

The boy's hat is not finished yet. The last thing to do is the visor. The visor must be made with double thread. Cast on 25 stitches and make a garter stitch of eight centimeters. Make decreases in the last strip, and then close the buttonholes. All that remains is to sew all the blanks of the hat, and we can assume that the boy’s headdress is ready. We invite you to watch the video material from which you will learn how to knit a winter hat with earflaps for a boy.

A knitted hat with ears is suitable for bright women who want to look fashionable and unusual. Recommendations with descriptions of patterns will help you create with your own hands an exclusive product of your favorite color and desired shape.

Popular knitted hats with ears

Playful elements in the form of ears will add a unique charm to the product. A variety of variations, shapes and details allows you to choose an original option for a specific clothing style. Decorating a hat with an interesting pattern, flower or pom-poms will emphasize individuality and complement the product favorably.

A knitted hat with ears for women with a description is distinguished by its versatility. Products in the style of earflaps are suitable for cold winter weather. Funny hats decorated with cat, fox or bear ears add variety to your wardrobe.

Tools and materials

When choosing tools and materials for knitting, it is necessary to take into account the seasonality and density of the future product. You will need to prepare yarn, circular and double knitting needles, and a needle for assembly.

Threads of medium thickness are suitable for creating hats by knitting in one thread. Usually the threads are woven into a cord, which facilitates the knitting procedure and prevents the yarn from delaminating during work. Poor quality threads are loosely woven, which makes casting on loops and knitting them very difficult. It is recommended to give preference to natural threads.

Warm versions of hats can be knitted from wool, mohair; thinner models are knitted from cotton or bamboo yarn with the addition of acrylic.

The best material for knitting needles is steel. This tool allows you to work quickly due to the easy sliding of threads and the ease of knitting different types of loops. Aluminum spokes are less smooth and can bend easily. Plastic ones are lighter and not as comfortable, but they allow you to avoid unpleasant knocking while knitting.

Mohair hats

Hats with ears, made of mohair, are distinguished by their extraordinary charm. Products made from mohair threads are warm and airy. The hats hold their shape well and do not stretch, despite its softness.

A knitted hat with ears for women with descriptions and diagrams is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance.

You can make a hat with ears using mohair knitting needles for women and children. The hypoallergenic nature of the material allows you to create warm accessories even for babies. It is optimal to use patterns with a description of English rib knitting or fluffy options.

Angora hats

Angora yarn is suitable for winter and autumn hats. Combining wool threads with acrylic or merino will help preserve the look of the product. Angora is more often used for knitting beanie hats, cat hats, and earflaps. The fluffy texture gives a special playfulness to products with ears.

Wool hats

The best option for creating a hat would be wool yarn. The natural origin of the fibers ensures the product is lightweight, hypoallergenic and “dry” warm when worn. Combining yarn with other types of artificial threads will help to avoid pilling and knocking of knitted fabric. It is recommended to give preference to voluminous patterns made from thick yarn.

Knitting patterns for cat hats with descriptions

Cat hats are relevant at any time of the year. Winter versions can be made from thick wool yarn, autumn and spring ones - from wool blend threads mixed with acrylic and cotton. It is recommended to select a material that holds its shape well so that the ears do not droop. Decorating cat hats can be done with patterns, pompoms, stripes, and buttons. The hat models are easy to make.

Winter versions of cat hats can be made from thick wool yarn, autumn and spring ones - from wool blend threads mixed with acrylic and cotton.

Technique for knitting a cat hat:

  1. The standard set of loops is about 120.
  2. Knitting is done with a 7 cm rib pattern.
  3. The main part of the product can be knitted using a simple stockinette stitch technique or in braids.
  4. From the middle of the hat, loops begin to decrease, one in each row. When forming the upper part, a decrease of 2 loops is made.
  5. Ears are knitted in various ways: from triangles or squares. The easiest way is to cast on 15 loops and knit an even square-shaped fabric.
  6. The square is then folded diagonally and stitched.

The cat hat can be made with a pearl pattern. At the beginning of the work, knit the edging of the product with an elastic pattern, alternating purl and knit stitches (2x2). The wider the elastic, the tighter the hat will fit your head. The main part of the product is made with a “pearl” pattern.

Technique:

  • first row: 1 lp, 1 sp;
  • second row: 1 sp, 1 lp.

The hat looks like a rectangle. In the central part you can create a wide royal braid. The cat hat can be knitted with circular or regular knitting needles. When knitting the fabric on stocking needles, you will need to sew it at the back of the head.

Spring and autumn hats

Hats with ears, knitted for spring or autumn, should be comfortable to wear. It is better to knit items for women from wool, acrylic or mixed yarn. For little fashionistas, it is advisable to insulate the model with a lining.

Work according to the diagram with the description should be done with thin knitting needles to obtain a dense fabric so that the ears do not hang down. When creating spring and autumn headdresses, it is allowed to make openwork patterns or in the form of a grid (stars, leaves, shells).

Garter stitch

Before mating, head circumference measurements should be taken. There are 2 ways to create a hat: knitting with circular knitting needles or assembling from 2 separate parts.

Garter stitch pattern:

  • at the beginning, the edge loops on the right knitting needle are removed;
  • then all the loops are knitted behind the front wall;
  • the last loop is knitted in the same way as the purl one;
  • the product is turned over, the pattern is repeated.

When the required canvas size is reached, the parts are assembled. After stitching, “ears” are formed at the top of the product. To make the elements more pronounced, you can remove the loops on stocking needles and knit them separately. Next, the central loops of the front and back halves of the hat are simply sewn together.

Rib knitting

Rib knitting allows you to create a dense fabric that does not stretch and retains its shape. The principle of execution is to alternately knit the front and back loops. The same technique can be used to decorate the edging of the cap.

There are several types of patterns: openwork elastic, diagonal, pearl, English elastic.

To create a hat, it is optimal to use the following technique:

  • 3 lp, *1 ip, 3 lp*;
  • 1 lp, * 1 sp, 3 lp * 1 sp, 1 lp.

The pattern for knitting a row is repeated according to the designation of the stars. After 5 cm of knitting, you should change the knitting needles and knit until the fabric measures 28 cm. Next, the upper part of the hat is formed. The loops are decreased by knitting 3 sp together, 2 sp are knitted through the row, then 2 sp. The thread is cut, pulled through the remaining loops and secured. The assembly seam is being made.

Beanie knitting

The standard beanie hat is an elongated knitted cap. The product can be made with knitting needles from thin or thick yarn. The pattern can be made in a vertical or transverse direction using the “rubber band” technique. When knitting the first 6 rows, the front and back loops alternate (2x2).

Next, 6 lp and 2 sp are performed until the end of the row. From the 8th row (and then all even ones) knit 2 knits, 2 sp, 6 lps, 2 sp. After the 50th row, you can start decreasing by knitting 2 sp together. The facial rows are performed without decreases. From the 55th row, 1 loop is decreased; on each section of 6 loops, 3 and 4 loops are knitted together.

In the 57th row, 2 loops are reduced (1.2 and 4.5). In the 59th row, 3 stitches are knitted at the same time. At the end of the work, all remaining loops are threaded to make a side seam. Thick yarn and a voluminous pattern will help make the product more prominent.. The ears can be made in the form of two playful fur pompoms.

With visor

Hats with a visor are an excellent solution for the autumn-spring period. Thin wool yarn will add volume, and the ears will emphasize individuality. Knitting a hat should start with the ears. The working method is similar to the principles of knitting hats with earflaps, but the elements in this case should be small. After knitting the ears, a 1x1 circular elastic is performed.

At a knitting height of 3 cm, the loops can be divided into 8 parts to create braids or pick up horizontal circular patterns. After creating an 8 cm pattern, you should begin decreasing the loops by knitting 2 loops together in one row. After 6 cm you need to start knitting all the stitches in 2 stitches together using the front method. The remaining loops are threaded and pulled together.

It is recommended to knit the visor using stockinette stitch. You will need to prepare 3 parts: the upper and lower parts, the inner lining. After casting the required number of loops, you should knit 2 rows. Further, in rows 3 and 4, 2 loops are not knitted on both sides. In 5-6 rows you need to add 2 loops (1 on each side). In 7-8 rows, loops are reduced by 2 in each.

The reduction of loops is carried out in a given algorithm. Part 2 is knitted similarly. The elements are stitched together and a seal is inserted inside. The hat is ready for assembly.

With tourniquets

Knitted plaits and braids can become the central decorative element of a hat with ears for women. Classic diagrams with descriptions of cord compositions make weaving easy.

Braids will act as an original decoration for thick knitted products and will prevent the hat from losing its shape.

The “shaped rope” pattern is an interweaving of 2 simple braids. For knitting you will need to select an even number of loops. After making the elastic, 14 loops should be separated in the central part of the product.

Knitting technique:

  • odd row: 2 sp, *12 lp, 2 sp*;
  • subsequent even rows are knitted depending on the pattern;
  • every 7th row: 2 sp, *turn to the right 6 loops (3 are removed on an additional knitting needle, the remaining 3 are knitted, then the loops are knitted on an additional knitting needle), the pattern is turned to the left, 6 loops (in accordance with the previous description of crossing), 2 sp*;
  • then repeat from rows 1 to 6.

The classic braid pattern is made by crossing 6 or 8 loops(3x3, 4x4). Depending on the width of the element, the division with purl loops (2-4 loops) is selected. Knitting a hat with braids allows you to create an original three-dimensional product. The width and type of element may vary and depend on the type of yarn and the chosen model.

Volume hat

Yarn with a bulky texture is optimal for products with large patterns in the style of coarse knitting. Headdresses are knitted with thin circular knitting needles. The fabric at the base requires a transition to larger knitting needles with the addition of loops. Braids and plaits will decorate the product and add volume. It is better to start adding loops after the elastic band.

voluminous hats are knitted with thin circular knitting needles.

Loops should be added gradually - 1-2 in each row. Volumetric hats with ears can be knitted in various patterns. A simple option would be a garter stitch or stockinette stitch. After reaching the required length in the crown area, the loops are reduced. The actions are repeated every 10, 9,8 and 7 loops. A thread is passed through the remaining 20 loops and pulled together.

A voluminous hat can be knitted with a “rice” pattern. The knitting principle is to alternate knit and purl stitches, in the next row the knitting changes (a purl is knitted over the knit stitch, then a purl over the knit stitch). A popular option for a voluminous hat is the takori model with lapels.

Winter hats

It is recommended to make winter versions of hats with ears from thick and voluminous wool yarn. Products can be combined with snoods and scarves. Insulation – a fleece lining – will help prevent the hat from blowing out. Angora or mohair models with cuffs are created using several layers of knitting to provide reliable protection from the cold.

Insulation – a fleece lining – will help prevent the hat from blowing out.

Decorating hats with ears adds playfulness to the look and lifts the mood. The advantage of handmade work is the ability to choose quality materials. Doing the work in 3-4 threads will help to add volume to the product.

Stocking hat

A hat with ears based on the stocking principle is easy to make with knitting needles. For women who prefer classic design options, diagrams of three-dimensional patterns with descriptions are suitable. The number of loops is calculated depending on the head circumference.

You will need to knit 2 identical fabrics according to the desired pattern to the required depth (17-18 cm). Then the parts are stitched together to form an even rectangle. An indent of about 5 cm is made in the area of the upper corners. A seam is sewn along the diagonal line, which forms the ears.

Hat with ear flaps

A winter hat with ears in the form of earflaps can be knitted with knitting needles from angora, mohair or wool yarn. Products for women are insulated using a sheepskin lining or padding polyester. It is very easy to work with a step-by-step description of the scheme and get an original product.

The model is functional and reliably protects from the piercing winter wind. To work, you will need to prepare 2 skeins of yarn, circular and double knitting needles, a hook, and rabbit fur for decorating the product. The knitting needles are selected according to the thickness of the thread, taking into account the desired density of the product (14 sts = 10 cm).

Available pattern options include stockinette stitch. The principle of knitting is to alternately knit rows of knit and purl stitches. The work progress involves making the left earpiece up to 21 rows according to the pattern. Next, the right earphone is knitted. At the end of the 22nd row you will need to cast on 4 loops to connect to the left earpiece.

hats with earflaps are insulated using a sheepskin lining or padding polyester.

At the end, you should cast on another 26 loops to decorate the front of the hat. The knitting is continued in the circle with a “braid” pattern. After completing 15 cm, you should begin decreasing the loops on the front row and forming the upper part. Reducing the number of loops is done by knitting 2 loops together. It is optimal to decrease the loops between the braids in the satin area. The next 3 rows are knitted without decreases.

Next, the purl loops are decreased, after which 3 rows are knitted again. In the next row, the decrease is carried out in the area of the braid pattern, 2 loops are knitted together. A series of decreases is repeated. Finally, the thread is broken, pulled through the remaining number of loops and secured.

The visor is knitted using stockinette stitch. A combination of fur and wool thread is acceptable. The rows are knitted alternately. Decrements should be made on each side three times, 1 loop at a time.

Closing the fabric is done with wool thread. The visor is sewn in front between the headphones. The open parts of the edge of the cap should be tied with 1 row of half-columns using a hook. The finished hat is decorated with fur tassels and a visor.

Bonnet

The hood model combines the functions of a hat and scarf. It is recommended to choose wide threads made of wool or wool mixture. On circular knitting needles, cast on stitches based on the desired width. It is important to remember that the hood should fit freely on the shoulders without squeezing the neck.

The hood should rest freely on the shoulders without squeezing the neck.

Knitting is done in a circle. You can alternate patterns to give the product an original relief and combine thread colors.

Hat-bonnet knitting technique:

  • 1-4 row – openwork knitting (pearl pattern);
  • Rows 5-8 – garter stitch or stockinette stitch (additional thread color);
  • Rows 9-20 – stockinette stitch (main color of yarn);
  • Rows 21-60 – stockinette stitch (turning rows).

The upper part of the product for women, as well as in the children's versions, is combined and stitched. Next, the cap with ears is edged to create a frame and slightly bent upward.

The ears can be knitted separately using a pattern with a description. You will need to cast on a row of loops and continue knitting with stockinette stitch, reducing their number by one in each row. It is recommended to make 2 parts for each ear, sew them together and attach them to the hat with hidden stitches.

Original hats with ears will emphasize individuality and highlight a bright and playful image. A variety of patterns and patterns will help you choose the best option for daily wear or for special occasions.

How to knit a hat for women with ears:

Analysis of the knitting pattern for a hat with ears:

A warm knitted hat with a lining is a must-have for your baby during the cold season; it is advisable that it be made of soft, non-prickly yarn and have ties and “ears.” This master class with diagrams describes how to knit a warm double hat with ears and ties for a baby. Prepared it.

For a baby one and a half years old with a head circumference of 46 cm you will need:

2 skeins of “Alize Baby Wool” yarn, blue;
a little yarn of white or another color (for pompoms) or ready-made pompoms;
circular knitting needles;
needle;
scissors;
hook;
device for making pompoms.

We start knitting from the first “ear”. To do this, we cast on 7 loops with yarn in 2 folds and knit with a double hollow elastic band, 15 rows on each side, adding a loop at the beginning and end of the row (every row or two). It turns out this “ear”: (photo 2).

We cut the thread and knit another one: (photo 3).

The thread is not cut further. Using a hook, we cast on 18 loops and connect 2 “ears”: (photo 4).

We continue to knit with the same stitch: (photo 5) another 16-18 rows,

adding on both sides in a loop every other row or two: (photo 6, 7).

This makes 82 loops. After this, we cast on another 32 loops using a hook: (photo and continue to knit another 12 rows with a hollow elastic band.

Now we switch to circular knitting needles: (photo 9).

To do this, we divide all the loops into 2 parts: the bottom (lining) and the top. For the top, take all the loops on one side of the hollow elastic band and every third loop on the other side. This will result in fewer loops for the lining than for the top. The lining loops can be transferred to additional knitting needles or simply to a thread of a contrasting color: (photo 10).

First we knit the top stitch in 2 threads. All knitting will be done using pearl stitch according to the pattern: (pattern 1).

The “owl” pattern is knitted in the front part of the cap: (diagram 2).

After a few rows, the “owl” will begin to “emerge”: (photo 11, 12).

In total you need to knit 40-41 rows in a circle. Then close the loops: (photo 13, 14).

Sew: (photo 15).

After this, we knit the lining with stockinette stitch in one thread: (photo 16).

You need to knit 28 rows in a circle: (photo 17, 18).

Then you need to shorten the loops (knit every 10th stitch with the 11th). Until there are 10-12 loops left on the knitting needles, which are simply pulled together with thread: (photo 19, 20).

All that remains is to carefully sew both ends of the elastic on the front of the hat. Then crochet the hat using the “crawfish step” technique: (photo 21, 22).

After this, we attach 2 pom-poms and make braids from threads: (photo 23).

Hat with oblique ears and small plaits

Yarn with a yardage of 180-200m/100g is suitable. For a warm hat, it is better to choose yarn containing wool, for a lighter one, cotton.

Knitting needles No. 3, 3.5, 4 depending on the density of your knitting.
Using the example of Pekhorka Elite, 415m/50g. in 4 threads. author mkLevent

Scheme:

It is half of the cap along with the ear.
1-4 rows rib, knit 7-8 cm. Repeat rapport 2 times.
After the elastic band, from the 5th row we knit the top of the cap. Repeat rapport 2 times.
I want to add 2 purl loops in the 23rd row so that in the 25th row I have 7 loops between the side braids.

The diagram shows only the front rows, purl rows according to the pattern. If knitting is circular, also according to the pattern. This version of the hat is knitted on 96 stitches in the round; for turning knitting you need to add 2 edge loops. If you don’t have enough loops, you can add “tracks”, for a total of 96 + 16 = 112 loops, again plus two edge loops for turning knitting.

Track pattern:

The pattern consists of two front and two purl loops. In the original there seems to be a cape and two together (that’s how I saw it), but the hat is lined and the holes from the cape are not visible. I have a hat without a lining and I didn’t like the holes, so I made the cape crossed.

The pattern says knit crossed, read as crossed yarn over. Yarn overs and two together change places, two together always to the left.

1st braid: leave 3 loops on the auxiliary needle before work, 3 knit stitches, 3 knit stitches from the auxiliary needle
2nd braid: leave 3 loops on the auxiliary needle while working, 3 knit stitches, 3 knit stitches from the auxiliary needle.
The last row is the closing of the loops. On the ear, close the central three together.
Knit in the round, cast on 96 stitches in any convenient way.

If you want an edge closer to the original, then cast on the loops the Italian way

In order for the braid to be on the front side, knit a “idle” row. It turns out purl for me, so I knit it like this - edge, two purls, two knits, repeat until the end of the row, edge.
And only then I close the circle and knit according to the 2-repeat pattern.
Repeat rows 1-4 to a height of 7-8 cm.

Now we knit the main pattern from rows 5 to 24.
In the 25th row, in the area of the eyelet, we will make three increases: crossed yarn over, purl knit yarn over, crossed yarn over, purl knit yarn over, crossed yarn over. In total, instead of two purl stitches, we now have 5 knit stitches.

As I wrote above, on this hat I wanted to add more loops. If you want it like in my version, then in the eye area, in the 23rd or 24th row, add 2 loops: cross. Yarn over, 2 p. p., crossed yarn over. In total, you will get 4 loops between the braids and when you add three more loops in the 25th row, there will be 7 loops between the braids.

We knit further according to the pattern. Our braid is now not 3x3, but 3x1. That is, we shift to the left or to the right, three loops. And in every second row, 2 loops will be added to the eyelet. Then we follow the diagram.

In the 46th row we close off the loops. The simple seam turned out to be rough and didn't look very nice. A loop-to-loop seam will prevent the crown from being pulled together and the ears sticking out to the sides. Therefore, I decided to close with a crochet hook and connecting loops, tightening the loop as much as possible.

We turn the hat inside out, take the thread with which we knitted it and begin to close the loops from the middle of the ear. I have 4 knitting needles so I can close it on either side.

We find the central loop of the ear (there are an odd number of loops on the ear). In the photo it is the outermost one on the left knitting needle. We need to move 1 stitch from the right needle to the left.
Three loops to the hook are the three center loops of the ear. We need to knit them together. Take a hook, pick up these 3 loops and pull a loop through them, knit it and tighten it tightly.

Next we knit 2 loops. Again we move 1 loop from the right knitting needle to the left one and knit these 2 loops together using a connecting loop, trying to tighten it tighter, the eyelet is pulled up.

In this way we continue to close the loops until we have only 3 loops left. The center stitch is the last one on the right needle. Now we move the last loop from the left knitting needle to the right one, so that it becomes the last one. And we knit these three loops together using a connecting loop.

My thread thickness is 200g/100m - the hat was knitted for an adult size (56 cm).

The diagram shows half of the middle part of the hat, the second half is knitted in a mirror image.
Gray cells - no loop. Due to the narrowing of the top of the hat, the ears stick out better.

After knitting the middle part of the hat according to the pattern, we cast on loops from rows 1 to 68 (the number of loops depends on the density of your knitting, I cast on 1.5 times more loops than edge loops up to row 57, and from rows 57 to 68 - 2 times more than edge ones so that the ears stand)

The middle part of the hat turned out to be 14 cm wide, the volume of the head is 56 cm, which means on one side of the cast-on loops we knit a fabric 2*2 with an elastic band - 14 cm, and on the other side (from 1 to 68 rows) we cast on the same number of loops, and knit 14 cm rubber band 2*2
Close the loops and sew with the middle part.

The last stage, we cast on loops along the edge of the almost finished hat, and knit with an elastic band 2*2 4cm. We close the loops as you see fit - with a needle, or in a simple way, the main thing is to get an elastic edge.

Stockinette hat with attached ears

Materials: shortened circular knitting needles, circular knitting needles on a long line, scissors and a meter, Angora gold yarn, knitting needles #3, OG 48 cm, in two threads. author MK Elena Zahvatova

Cast on 15 stitches and knit several rows in stockinette stitch. The width of the sample turned out to be 8 cm in the free position and 10 cm in the stretched position. Therefore, we take the average value of 9 cm for a tighter fit.
Now we divide 15 stitches: 9 cm = 1.6 neededmultiply the number of loops in one cm by 48. 48 x 1.6 = 76

For the desired OG you need to cast on 76 loops.Since the crown of the hat will be closed with four wedges, the number of loops must be divided by 4.If you are in doubt about the chosen yarn, then the sample needs to be washed and steamed and after that make measurements and calculations.

Cast on 76 loops and plus 1 to join in a circle. We knit with stockinette stitch the height of the hat we need. Depth for a panama hat, hat (to the middle of the ear) = OG/3+1(1.5) cm. Depth for the hat (to the earlobe) = OG/3 + 2(3)cm

We calculate according to our standards and to the resulting figure we add the length of the desired lapel from 4 to 7 cm, or leave it as is and then the hat will be without a lapel, don't forget to hang a marker and mark the beginning of the row. Knit the desired height of the cap, 19 cm, and begin knitting the crown.

Knitting ears

For the ears we will need circular knitting needles with a fairly long and preferably softer fishing line; we will knit the ears using the Magic Loop technique.

The eyelet on the pink hat consists of 40 loops, 20 in the front and 20 in the back.
On white - from 32 loops, 16 in front and 16 in back.

We find two rows in the middle of the wedge and use the half loops to cast on the required amount on the knitting needles.
loops, half on one knitting needle and the other half on the second.
We knit the first row with knit stitches. From the second row we begin the decreases, from the right edge of the ear two together with a tilt to the right, from the left edge two along with a tilt to the left. Decrease in each row, two decreases on the front ear and two decreases on the back, 4 in total. It’s good to knit ears according to this video.

Stockinette hat with all-knitted ears

Cat hat with knitting needles without top seam on the ears

Materials:

Yarn "Pekhorka" Children's novelty, 2 threads, one skein, 4.5 knitting needles.

Knitting description:

Cast on 33 stitches and start knitting in the following order:
chrome, P3, 6 braid loops, P2, 9 elastic loops 1*1 (start from faces), P2, 6 braid loops, P3. chrome
Start braiding the braid from the second row, then through 4 rows to the fifth. Knit 5 rows and replace the central part of the 1*1 elastic band with a semi-patent one (that is, do the yarn overs on one side).
From the beginning, knit 13 cm, then decrease in the outer purl loops to narrow the hat and go back to the 1*1 rib in the central pattern. On the next row, make decreases in the purl rows, between which there is an elastic band 1*1.

Knit 7 rows. and make decreases in the central elastic pattern 1*1, decrease all purls and in the braid, decrease to 2 knit stitches.. Knit nine rows. Mark the 5th row - this is the middle of knitting and then knit with increases in the reverse order.

Next, close the last row, but do not break the thread. We stretch the motif to the point where you would like it to lie on your head. and measure.
I have 18 cm. Our head is 50. Let’s do the calculation
1), 18 front + 18 cm back = 36 cm
2), 50-36= 12 cm on the sides.
3), 12/2 = 6cm. need to be tied to the sides.
Along the side edge of the back of the head we cast on 52 loops, this is exactly to the middle of the hat and knit with a 2*2 elastic band starting from the edges and faces of the loops.
To increase the effect in the ears, I knitted up to 3 cm and knitted 2 shortened rows, first with 10 loops, then with 8 loops.

Continue knitting with all loops up to 6 cm. In the last row, make decreases, i.e. switch to an elastic band of 1.1

Fold the side panel in half and sew it to the front side panel using a hook. Why is the hook a beautiful edging? Do the same on the second side. Sew up the ears at the top. I tied the bottom of the hat with 1 row of half-columns.

Hat with plaits with imitation ears*Isabelle*

MATERIALS:

Italian stock bobbin yarn Biagioli Modesto. White color. Composition: 20% cashmere, 30% silk, 50% merino. I knitted the thread in 10 folds, with stocking needles No. 1.25 for an elastic band, and in 15 folds with stocking needles No. 2 for the hat itself.

DIMENSIONS:

the height turned out to be 20 cm. The pattern repeat is 21 rows high. The elastic is also 20 rows and decreases are 20 rows.

DESCRIPTION:

Knitting a rectangle is simple. Cast on 192 stitches on a 2x2 elastic band and knit in the round. Report - 16 loops. Divide into 12 sections of 16 loops. On the sides there are 2x2 elastic sections and in the middle and back there are 5 sections for the pattern.

Alternate on 16 loops. Then, closer to the crown, make decreases closer to the center. Close the loops at the top and sew tightly, tightening them tightly.

Pattern diagram for 4 and 5 stripes:

Hat with ears *Lexi*

Materials: merino/alpaca wool and acrylic yarn, density 100 g/200-220 m, knitting needles 3.5-4.5 mm. depending on the size and your knitting density.

2 persons together. right: insert the right needle into the second, then into the first loop of the left needle and knit them together. behind the front walls.
2 persons together. left: remove the loop, knit 1, throw the removed loop over the knitted one.
Double decrease: insert the right knitting needle into the second, then into the first loop of the left knitting needle, remove these two loops unknitted, knit 1, throw the two removed loops over the knitted one.

Cross the loop to the left: remove one loop on an additional needle, leave it before work, knit 2 knits. from the left knitting needle, then knit 1. with an additional knitting needle.
Cross the loop to the right: remove two loops on an additional needle, leave them at work, knit 1 person. from the left knitting needle, then k2. with an additional knitting needle.

Description of work:

Using the Italian method of casting on, cast on 90 stitches.
Join in a circular row.
Rib knit k1, *p2, k3, repeat from *, finish p2, k2.
In this way, knit 9-10 rows (1-2 rows of the pattern).
Continue knitting the pattern starting from the 3rd row.
The diagram shows ½ of the work, i.e. knit it 2 times wide.
The diagram is shown from the front side.
After the diagram, close the loops and sew the top seam.
From the wrong side, along the decreasing line, sew the outer arches of the loops to form “ears” on the front side.

Knitted cat hat, knitting pattern:

Hat with elastic bands on the sides

Materials:
Threads 100% wool, 100 gr./300 m, knitting needles No. 4, in 2 threads.

Knitting description:

We cast on 26 stitches and knit to the required length according to the above pattern.
It is equal to the depth of the cap. For a hat depth of 34 cm, knit 96 rows. Close the loops.
Mark the middle of the strip - 48 rows (96 rows/2).
Determine the length of the side stripes:
The braided strip needs to be stretched a little and measured in the desired stretched position. Here 16 cm at
head volume 55 cm.

Length of side stripes = 55 cm - 2*16 cm = 23 cm / 2 = 11.5 cm - length of one side strip.

Now you need to cast on 2 loops from the center down from each edge loop on the knitting needles for knitting the side part.

Cast on loops like this so that there are 2 loops from one: cast on the first loop as in the picture, the second from the same loop, only using half a loopand accordingly not
need to
skip rows.

We lift two loops from one edge, making 96 loops. We knit with an elastic band 2 x 2 (knit 2, purl 2).
Here 11.5 cm = 24 rows.We DO NOT close the loops. We knit the second one in the same way.
Sew the side stripes to the back of the hat in the following way:

We sew the side strips on top (the top of the ears is obtained).

Scheme of the central stripe of the pattern:

Knitted cat hat *Owl*

We cast on the required number of loops on the knitting needles and distribute them across four knitting needles. If you knit on circular knitting needles, then after knitting the first row you should close the knitting and make a circle.

"Owl" will be based on 32-33 rows. If the hat is larger, then at the bottom and top of the pattern we simply knit the required number of rows in the stitch of your choice (knit stitch, garter stitch, etc.).

Rows 1-2: knit six, purl 12, knit six.

3rd - start drawing. 4 knit stitches, four purl stitches (two of them are removed on an additional needle and then knitted). Then we alternate eight loops between purl and knit. Again, four purl stitches (two of which we then knit from an additional needle) and four knit stitches.

4th - knit the purl row according to the pattern.

5th - we form the owl’s tummy, reducing the number of side loops and increasing the number of central ones. Two knit stitches, four purl stitches (using an additional knitting needle, as we described above), alternating 12 stitches, again four purl stitches with additional stitches. knitting needle and two knitting needles.

6th - two knits, two purls, alternating and at the end again two purls, two knits.

7-17th - knit like the sixth row.

18th - knitted exactly the same as row 5. The only difference is that in the fifth row we knitted the first two loops from an additional knitting needle, and in the 18th row we will do the opposite.

19th - according to the drawing, all the loops.

20th - four knits, four purls (all four on an additional needle), eight central purls, four (with an additional needle) and four knits again.

21-29th - knit four, purl 16, knit four. This will be the owl's head. The 30th is knitted exactly the same as the twentieth.

31-32nd - here we knit the owl’s ears. Four knit stitches, four purl stitches, eight knit stitches, four purl stitches, four knit stitches.

As a rule, if it is a small children's hat, then the entire design can easily fit on the central part.

Scheme 2

Ears and tassels

You are making an almost square product, so when you sew the hat on top, the sharp corners-ears will form on their own. It is very simple to highlight the corners, showing that these are the sharp ears of an owl.

If desired, you will simply need to add tassels to them. To do this, take the yarn from which you knitted, or any other (you can have a contrasting color) and cut the threads about ten centimeters long. Determine the number of threads yourself. If you want bigger ears, take more threads for the tassel and vice versa. Fold the strings in half and tie them in the central part. Then we align the ends and sew the center to the place on the corners where the tassels will be at the ear.

Hat decorations

Now a little about decorating the owl. In order to highlight the eyes, you can use any available items from the needlewoman’s kit. If the hat is for a girl, then most often beads or rhinestones are attached. Next, the ears are knitted separately. They can be made in the same way as in the previous version, but sewn separately, they look more interesting.

A hat is a must-have accessory for the cold season. Today, handmade products are especially popular. They are unique, attractive, and contain the energy of warmth, because the needlewoman puts her soul into her work. Knitting a baby hat with ears means creating a fashionable item of clothing in which your baby will be cute and attractive. Such products can be additionally decorated with beads, decorative buttons or other knitted elements. You can safely conduct a photo shoot in such a hat.

Features of a children's hat

Knitted with knitting needles, a baby hat with ears will protect your baby from the piercing wind. The child will not pull off the headdress, because it is fixed on the head with attractive ties. It is important for a child that all products match his size. This especially applies to the hat. After all, each baby has its own build, and finding a suitable option is just as difficult as for an adult. A small hat will not cover the forehead and back of the head well, while a large one may become airy, especially in the area of the ears. And this can lead to constant otitis media and colds.

If mom does a little handicraft, then it won’t be difficult for her to independently knit a children’s hat with ears of the appropriate size. In addition, things created with your own hands are characterized by special warmth, which means that your baby will be comfortable and warm even in severe frosts.

Preparing for knitting

To create a warm hat, you should choose good yarn. It is desirable that it contains only wool. In addition, it is better to choose the one marked “Baby”. Often this yarn is soft, pleasant to the body, and does not prick at all - ideal for children.

We have decided on the yarn, now we need to select the appropriate knitting needle size. To do this, we will knit the sample using several knitting needle options and select the appropriate one. Now let's create a sample using the selected knitting needles with a pattern that will be used to make the entire hat. We take appropriate measurements from it. Remember that this point is mandatory, because the main thing is to correctly calculate the number of loops.

Loop calculation

We measure the circumference of the child's head. For example, 43 cm. Now subtract 2-3 cm from this number and divide by 4. Accordingly, 40/4 = 10 cm. Two parts are the ears, the third is the extra for forming the front of the hat and the back loops, the fourth is the front of the hat .

Using a knitted pattern, we calculate how many loops are in 1 cm. In the example, the knitting density is 22 x 32 = 10 x 10 cm.

Pattern

Every mother knows what her child needs. This also applies to the pattern; the pattern made can be different. You can knit a head pattern with a simple stockinette stitch, on top of which you can decorate the product with beads, rhinestones, buttons, etc. If you want to knit a hat, for example, with a “braid” pattern, then you should start knitting it from the second row. Or after a rubber band.

Knitting hats

Let's look at an example for a children's room. You will need about 100 g of yarn, 50 g per skein. Knitting is done with 2.5 mm knitting needles. You can use both circular and stocking ones.

Let's start with the ears of the hat:

  • To do this, cast on 7 loops and knit several rows, adding 1 loop in each row along the edges.
  • When there are 23 loops on the knitting needles, knitting must be postponed. It is approximately 6.5 cm in height.
  • The last row should be purl.

Using the same principle, we knit the 2nd eye. After this, you need to connect the 2 ears together, forming the back of the cap:

  • To do this, we knit the front row of the 1st ear;
  • We put 12 loops on the knitting needles and knit the front side of the 2nd eye.

At this stage, you should form the front part of the baby hat with ears using knitting needles. The diagram of the future drawing should already be prepared, because very soon it will come in handy:

  • Now there are 5 loops on the knitting needles. Now we knit another 8 rows of the hat, adding 1 loop per row. This will create a beautiful transition from the ears to the front of the product. And at the back, these rows will reliably cover the child’s neck.
  • There are now 66 stitches on the needles.
  • In the 9th row we knit 66 loops and cast on another 22. At this stage, knitting is closed in a circle and switched to circular knitting needles.
  • We knit a fabric 10.5 cm high. This is enough to knit a baby hat for a baby up to 1 year old.

Now they begin to decrease the loops. To do this, the number of stitches cast on the knitting needles should be divided into 8 wedges. Decrease at the beginning of each wedge, knitting 2 loops together. Let's say there are 88 loops in a hat. This means that there are 11 loops in 1 wedge. Deductions are made as follows:

  • Decrease 1 stitch once in every 4th row.
  • Decrease 1 stitch in every 2nd row.

As a result of such reductions, 16 loops will remain on the knitting needles. Now we knit every 2 loops together, and simply tighten the remaining 8 loops well with a working thread. We carefully hide the thread from the wrong side and fix it.

Now we twist 2 cords for ties. The edges of the cap can be crocheted using a single crochet stitch. Sew on ties, pompoms, and beads.

Conclusion

To create a chic, attractive hat for your baby, you need to prepare some yarn, knitting needles and a good mood. Believe me, your baby will be comfortable and warm. If you want to knit a hat for severe winter frosts, experts advise making the lining from warm fleece.
