In this article I will tell you how to write a resume correctly in 2019 using specific examples. Resume samples can be downloaded in Word and easily edited.

Hello, dear friends! Alexander Berezhnov is in touch.

As you already understood from the title, today we will talk about getting a job, namely competently writing a resume. There is a lot of literature on this subject on the Internet, but I did not find clear and understandable instructions. Therefore, I offer my instructions, compiled according to an accessible and simple algorithm.

Be sure to read the article to the end - the finale is waiting for you to download!

1. What is a resume and what is it for?

If you still don’t quite understand what a resume is, I suggest giving it a definition:

Summary- This brief self-presentation in writing of your professional skills, achievements and personal qualities that you plan to successfully implement at your future place of work in order to receive compensation for them (for example, in the form of money or another type of compensation)

In the past, I myself had to write a resume when applying for a job. After all, without this, no employer will even know about you and your professional skills.

I remember when I first sat down to write my resume, it took me a lot of time to compose it correctly and format it according to all standards. And since I like to understand everything thoroughly, I studied the issue of correct spelling very deeply. To do this, I talked with professional HR specialists and studied a large number of articles on the topic.

Now I know how to write a resume correctly and will gladly share it with you.

I am sharing with you samples of my resumes, which I wrote for myself personally:

(you can download them completely free)

Thanks to my ability to write professional resumes, I never had any difficulty getting a job. Therefore my knowledge is reinforced practical experience and are not dry academic theory.

So what is the secret to writing a good resume? Read about it below.

2. How to write a resume correctly - 10 simple steps

Before we move on to the steps, I want you to remember 3 main rules for successful resume writing:

Rule #1. Write the truth, but not the whole truth

Emphasize your strengths and don't mention your weaknesses too much. You will be asked about them at the interview, be prepared for this.

Rule #2. Stick to a clear structure

The resume is written on 1-2 sheets, no more. Therefore, try to briefly and succinctly present all the necessary information, even if there is a lot of it.

Take care of careful formatting of the resume text and its structured presentation. Because no one likes to read gobbledygook.

Rule #3. Be optimistic and cheerful

Positive people attract success. In your case, a new job.

So, let's move on to the structure of writing a resume.

Step 1. Resume Title

Here you must write the word “Resume” itself and indicate for whom it was compiled.

All this is written on one line.

For example: Resume of Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich

Then your potential employer will immediately understand who owns the resume. For example, you previously called a company you are interested in to find out if they still have this vacancy open. You were given a positive response and asked to send your resume.

At the end of the first step, your resume will look like this:

Step 2. Purpose of the resume

It is important to remember that your resume must have a purpose. It is correct to formulate it as follows (phrase):

The purpose of the resume is to apply for an accountant position

Since at this moment you are called a job seeker, that is, a person looking for a job, potentially applying for it.

At the end of the second step, your resume will look like this:

Step 3. Applicant and his data

In this paragraph you must write the following:

  • date of birth;
  • address;
  • contact number;
  • e-mail;
  • Family status.

At the end of step three, your resume should look like this:

Step 4. Education

If you have several entities, then write them in order.

For example:

Moscow State University, 2005-2010,

Speciality: accountant (bachelor)

Moscow State University, 2007-2013,

Speciality: translator in the field of professional communication (bachelor's degree)

At this stage, your resume should look like this:

Step 5. Work experience

Please note that the “work experience” column is written in the resume starting from your most recent place of work, if it is not the only one, and begins from the period spent in this position.

For example:

Job title: chief accountant's assistant;

Job title: accountant

Now we have already written half of the resume, it should look like this:

Step 6. Job Responsibilities

This item in the resume is not always required if the vacancy for which you are applying is quite common, and you held a similar position at your previous place of work.

Sometimes this paragraph can be included in the previous one by writing your job responsibilities immediately after the position.

Step 7. Achievements at previous jobs

The “Achievements” item is one of the most important in a resume! It is much more important than education and even work experience.

Your potential employer wants to know exactly what they will pay you for. Therefore, it is very important to mention when writing a resume all significant achievements at previous jobs. At the same time, please note that it is correct to write in words that are so-called “markers” for personnel service employees reviewing your resume.

For example, the correct way to write:

  • increased sales volumes by 30 percent in 6 months;
  • developed and introduced new technology into production;
  • reduced equipment maintenance costs by 40%.

It is incorrect to write:

  • worked to increase sales;
  • took part in a project to create a new technology;
  • reduced equipment costs.

As you can see, it is also important to write specific numbers, since they very clearly reflect the essence of your achievements.

Now your resume looks something like this:

Step 8: Additional Information

Here you need to describe your strengths, professional knowledge and skills that will directly help you better and more efficiently perform the tasks assigned to you at your new place of work.

Usually the following is written here:

  1. Proficiency in computers and special programs. This is relevant for office workers and employees whose direct work is related to a PC. For example, for designers, accountants, programmers, office managers.
  2. Knowledge of foreign languages. If your future work involves reading, translating or communicating in a foreign language and you speak it to a certain extent, be sure to write about it. For example: English spoken.
  3. Availability of a car and driving skills. If your work involves business travel and you often have to drive a car, for example, while working as a sales representative, then you should indicate the presence of your car, as well as the category of driver’s license and experience.

Thus, in the additional information, along with computer skills and a foreign language, write: have a personal car, category B, 5 years of experience.

Step 9. Personal qualities

There is no need to describe too many qualities here, especially if they are not relevant to your future job. You may be a kind and sympathetic person who loves children and respects your friends, but a potential employer will not be interested in reading about your “heartiness” and rich inner world.

For example, if you are applying for the position of an accountant, then it would be good to write here: composure, attentiveness, punctuality, efficiency, mathematical mind, ability to analyze.

If you are applying for a more creative profession, say, a designer or creator, then you should indicate here: a developed creative imagination, a sense of style, an unconventional view of a problem, healthy perfectionism.

It will be very cool if at the end of your resume you mention your full name. and positions of your former managers, and also indicate their contact numbers so that your potential employer or his representative can verify your professionalism by receiving feedback about you from your former immediate managers.

Even if your potential employer does not call your previous managers, the very fact of having contacts for recommendations will significantly increase his trust in you.

At the very end of your resume, you must indicate when you are ready to start work, and here you can also indicate your desired salary level.

The final look of your resume:

Congratulations! Your resume is 100% ready!

Finally, I will provide several sample resumes that can be slightly adjusted and immediately used to send to your potential employer.

Update of the article “Write your resume correctly or “I can smile and bake pancakes.”

Let me start by saying that I am an IT recruiter. This text expresses only my opinion on the issue of resume writing. This does not mean that my colleagues in the industry think the same. Perhaps they agree with some things and disagree with others.

Yes, I confess, in the original version of the article, published some time ago, I expressed my opinion somewhat categorically about the presence and quality of a photograph in a resume. Let's do this: whether to put a photo or not is up to you. From my experience I can only say that:

1. Working in an IT recruitment agency, I communicate with candidates only by phone and it is psychologically more comfortable for me to imagine a person visually. Perhaps you too. Often the employment process lasts for weeks, or even months. During this period, I correspond with the candidate, communicate by phone and on Skype. I worry about him, especially if the process of reviewing a resume is for some reason delayed, and the person urgently needs a job. If the story ends well and the candidate is invited to join the company, I’m happy. And so from day to day, and from month to month. The person is already becoming somewhat close to me. And without presenting it visually, it’s a little more difficult and somehow sadder to work with.

Therefore, a photo on a resume is important to me as a recruiter.

2. For a manager looking for a specialist to join his team, a photo in the candidate’s resume may be important for another reason: he and his colleagues will work with this person 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. And I want the person to fit into the team. Of course, you can only understand whether a specialist will fit into the team or not during an interview, and even then not always. But you can’t invite everyone to an interview; the manager has little time for this. In this case, the photo acts as one of the filters for him to save time.

Based on this, it’s up to you to decide whether to place a photo on your resume, and which one. I just tried to explain why this can be indirectly useful when looking for a job.

And finally, before you finally start reading the article itself, I want to ask you - do not hesitate to comment! Your opinion is very important to me because you are my friends, or colleagues in the industry, or the ones I call every day, saying: “Hello, I found your resume...”

As part of my job, every day I look through HeadHunter, Linkedin and many other resources to search for IT specialists of various kinds.
Being on the other side of HeadHunter, I never cease to be amazed at the ingenuity of those who are looking for work.
I propose to talk about how to effectively position yourself in the labor market.
The right sales resume is the first and main step to your dream job.
The recommendations will be practical, tested through personal experience both from the applicant and the recruiter.

By the way, a couple of months ago the habrayuser 3dstepych was interested in this topic and in the comments there was a lively discussion of what an IT specialist’s resume should be (the post itself)

There are quite a lot of articles on the topic “how to write a resume”, but from practice - if every day I see a certain number of examples worthy of a detailed “debriefing”, then there is still “field for activity”, so I suggest once again going over the criteria for a correct resume, Moreover, the labor market does not stand still and what was completely irrelevant 2-3 years ago is now in trend.

Today, on every corner they talk about “selling texts”, “selling events”, about how important it is to be able to sell. How does sales relate to the job search process? Quite directly!
Let me tell you a secret: there are no ideal employers, no ideal vacancies and no ideal candidates. Therefore, there is room for sales in the labor market: the recruiter “sells” the vacancy to the candidate, and the candidate “sells himself” to the recruiter.

For a person looking for a job in standard ways (by posting a resume on job sites), the main task is to write a resume that is relevant to the desired position and attract the attention of the recruiter.
*Recruiter is a person who looks for resumes of candidates for a vacancy and conducts an initial interview. As usual, telephone.

Let's write the right sales resume. Let's look at the example of the well-known Hh.ru template. By the way, my resume helped me get an interesting job without experience or education in exactly the field I wanted - IT recruiting.

One resume - one position

Reading “web programmer/IT specialist/system administrator” you can’t help but wonder whether this candidate even knows anything in these areas or is just “lucky”.
If you are considering different job options for yourself, write a separate resume for each position.
And, by the way, indicate the same salaries everywhere or with a difference of +- 5 tr.
The resume of the same person “Head of the IT department” for 90,000 rubles looks strange. and “Internet marketer” for 55,000 rubles. - I just want to say “you’ll decide, comrade.”

Contacts

It is useful to indicate in your resume, in addition to telephone and email, also Skype. This will help the recruiter quickly contact you, see when you are online and quickly interact as you go through the stages of selection for a vacancy.
Don’t worry, they will write to you only on business. And enough time is saved. Sometimes in 5 lines in a Skype chat you can understand whether the candidate and the recruiter have mutual interest in each other. In addition, the contacts on Skype remain, the recruiter renames them (changes the nickname to the first and last name, also indicates the field, for example JS) and when a new vacancy appears, he offers it first of all to “warm contacts” on Skype and in professional networks.

It's no secret that in addition to job sites, there are also professional social networks. Linkedin is the most popular among them. About 40% of Linkedin users work in the IT field and, as a result, recruiters are frequent visitors there. Having a profile in “Link” and indicating a link to it in your resume, you increase your rating in the eyes of the recruiter and increase your own chances of finding a job in a large company and in an interesting project.

Only 20-30% of vacancies are posted on Hh.ru and other specialized job search sites. For other positions, recruiters look for candidates on their own, without an incoming stream of responses. As a rule, this search is not limited to job sites. Linkedin and My Circle are excellent platforms for both job search (vacancies are also posted in professional networks) and for searching for candidates.
I myself am actively searching on Linkedin. By the way, from observations: PHP programmers respond well to vacancies when I write to them on VKontakte.
Sometimes large companies have a requirement not to show candidates from Hh.ru, and without a Linkedin profile you become “invisible” to recruiters. What if he is looking for a specialist for your dream vacancy?

Possibility of relocation

There wasn't a day when I didn't call out-of-town candidates with an offer of a vacancy in St. Petersburg.
Are you seriously thinking about moving somewhere? Ready to leave in 2-3 weeks? Do you know where exactly you would like to move? - Great! Then feel free to indicate the possibility of moving and don’t forget to mark the city(s) where you might like to live.
Out-of-town candidates get calls often. And precisely because they said in their resume that they were ready to move.
So if you are not ready, or have serious doubts, do not write about moving. Don't mislead recruiters and don't waste your time.

Photo - highly desirable

The IT community is also very creative here. Images of anime characters, comic book heroes, photos of Scott Pilgrim and images of a monkey (!) - all sorts of things can be found.
A photo is what draws a recruiter's attention to your resume, but it must be a positive attention. A portrait that reflects your character, interests, mood - this is what will distinguish your resume from others.
Regarding “creativity”, it is possible that the more experience you have and the cooler it is, the more unusual the image on your resume may be. In this case, they will forgive you. When I see such examples, I smile and call the candidate. But if you are a Junior, your solution is a portrait.

Now that the formal points have been edited, let's move on to the first block of basic information in the resume - work experience.

If you know technologies, write about them!

If you are an IT worker, indicate at each place of work the technologies you use. Simply writing, for example, PHP is extremely insufficient. You will appear in search results for many queries, but your resume will not be relevant to the vacancy in all cases. If I'm looking for someone who works with the Zend framework, then I make a search query using keywords something like this: PHP AND (Zend OR Doctrine). And, drum roll, if you work with this framework, but it is not specified (why should you indicate it, I’ll tell you this in a voice at the interview) - you will not get an interview, because in the search results on Hh.ru your resume will not be!
Conclusion: write both general technologies (for example, language) and specific ones, because they sometimes play a decisive role.

In your work experience, write at least a couple of sentences about the essence of the project

Often the customer asks that candidates have experience working on a similar project. But how will a recruiter understand whether you have worked on a similar project or not if you don’t have a word written about the essence of the project?
If you are a system administrator and you do not have a project as such, indicate the number of computer users in the company for which you worked or are currently working. This will help you evaluate the scale of your activities and the complexity of the systems you have to deal with.

It’s done (by itself) / Made by me! *Or the devil is in the details

Did you write about the essence of the project and indicate the technologies?
Now be sure to add a verbal description of your work.
If we are talking about a “selling resume,” then you should pay attention to this text. Resumes look more confident when the essence of the work is written as something completed, rather than in an impersonal form.
For example: instead of “designing, developing the architecture and modules of a large, high-load Internet portal “...” it is better to write “Participated in the design, developed the architecture and modules of a large, high-load Internet portal.”

Layout of module interfaces according to design layouts / layout of module interfaces according to design layouts.

Worked in a team using GIT and SVN version control systems / Worked in a team using GIT and SVN version control systems.

Showcase your professional growth. Manage the overall impression of the work experience

If you have a lot of jobs in your work history, but you worked in many of them for 2-6 months, do not include everything in your resume. The employer is distrustful of such a candidate. It is clear that you had good reasons to quit after several months of work, but this is not an argument for the employer.
Give a general overview of your work experience. Don't split it into a large number of companies. If you are 23-28 years old, then 3-5 companies in this section are enough. Anything more is too much.
Indicate only those companies where work has brought you real benefits: you have grown professionally, gained valuable experience, worked in a high-load project, led a group.
Make sure that you see growth from your first job to your current one. If there was a moment when you briefly lost ground, it is better not to mention it so as not to spoil the overall picture.
How to hide temporary gaps in work experience? Add a month to your previous and next place of work. Say that you vacationed for some time using your existing savings, or went on a long trip. No one will check this information in detail at first, but then you will, of course, show yourself to be a real guru at your new place of work and it will not occur to your superiors to delve into your past.

Key skills or “I can smile and bake pancakes!”

Read this section and carefully enough! That’s why first write in “key skills” again those mysterious names and abbreviations of the technologies you work with.
It would be great if you made a rating: at the top, what you know best and what you work with constantly, then what you have encountered or are currently studying.
After the technical part, feel free to write about personal qualities. It is better to avoid the “responsible, executive and sociable” templates. I get a shiver when I see “young, dynamically developing company” in job descriptions. This is a button accordion. So “responsible, executive and communicative” is also a button accordion, but among the candidates.
What should you write about yourself in the “key skills” section? Write about the character traits that you think are required in the desired position.
If this is development - attentiveness, ability to write clean code, whether you like or dislike working in a team. Give reasons for one point of view or another.
If project management means customer focus, time management skills, charisma.
Write about your hobbies and what you study in your free time.

New field / little experience: why me?

Separately, I would like to note the situation when you are writing a resume for a position in a new field for you, or when you really have little experience, but you are 100% sure that you will cope with the responsibilities for which you are applying.
Look at your work experience differently: What skills do you have that are valuable (directly or indirectly) in your desired field and position?
For a long time, leading companies no longer hire based on technical skills alone. This is not enough. Almost all technical subtleties can be taught. It is very difficult to change a person's character.
Why is this position right for you? Why do you dream of making a career in this field? Why should you be given a chance and the employer will definitely not lose? Do you know how to work for results? Are you a fast learner? Do you understand the future of this area and see potential in it?
For example, by typing up a large number of projects, you learned to multitask. Write how this can be useful in the work of a project manager? You know how to efficiently perform your duties in multitasking mode, manage to keep track of everything at once and are attentive to details, respect deadlines and will do everything to ensure that the project is completed on time.

Cover letter or “I applied, but I’m not interested in the vacancy”

Of course, on work websites and professional social networks. Not the entire list of vacancies is posted on networks, but still, if you are looking for a job, it is worth monitoring open offers on the labor market and responding to vacancies.
When sending your response, write cover letters. There are a lot of responses, and in order for the recruiter to pay attention to your resume, he must first “buy” the cover letter that you wrote at the time of the response.
“Hello, I am interested in your vacancy” - who among you has not written such cover letters in responses to vacancies?
This section evokes especially trembling feelings in me, because I no longer have the strength to receive responses with such an “original and useful” text!

Absolute evil: “Hello, I’m interested in your vacancy.” Of course, it is interesting to you, since you respond to it. Why repeat the obvious?
If you are applying for a vacancy, write a competent cover letter, otherwise your application risks not being viewed.
What to write? Main! Namely: about your skills in the context of the vacancy, i.e. Pay special attention to those points. which are indicated in the job description as key. Celebrate that you have them, but don't get carried away.
Writing in a cover letter for a layout designer vacancy that the candidate has 13 years of management experience and a couple of his own businesses under his belt is unnecessary. Since you are so cool, why do you need layout? Go straight to managing the IT department and don’t fool yourself. No? Then don't write about this experience. He is useless in this position. Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is much more important.

A great example of a cover letter:

So, today we will be presented with examples of the best resumes. Without this document it is now very difficult to imagine employment. And, accordingly, when a person does not have it, then the chances of filling a vacancy are rapidly approaching zero. Thus, you have to think a lot about how to write a resume. Sometimes it is made inconsistent with reality. To some extent this is correct. Especially if you are a fast learner. Then you can always quickly master the skills and programs that are specified in the document. But if this is not so, then you will have to write only the truth. The best resume examples are those that demonstrate not only your skills and abilities, but also your integrity. So let's get started with today's topic as soon as possible.

Concept

Let's start by trying to understand more clearly what we will be talking about today. To know how to write a good resume (we’ll look at an example of one by component), you’ll have to figure out what we’re dealing with. Maybe this will already help you understand what needs to be written in this document.

So what is a resume? This is a document that reflects your skills and characteristics, as well as places of previous work. A kind of application form for employment. Without it you can't get a job now. Maybe as a loader, and that’s not a fact. In a resume, as a rule, personal characteristics are also indicated. And, of course, there is a small list of required items. After all, doing it wrong can simply ruin your career.

In truth, drawing up such a document requires extreme honesty. You can only lie about your character. After all, the majority of the population is now nervous. And this is a very bad trait. It's better not to indicate it. So let's try to look at an example of creating a good resume for different jobs. In addition, it is worth paying attention to the universal option, which is suitable for absolutely any profession.

About Me

It starts with one simple point - about yourself. You can also find the wording contact information. To be honest, this “place” is the easiest to fill. To fill it with information, you may need a passport.

The first thing you should pay attention to is your contact information. More precisely, personal. First name, last name and patronymic. This is the most important point. Without it, a resume is not valid. Examples of the best resumes cannot be imagined without “full name”. Write your full name, surname and patronymic. Next, you will have to fill in your city of residence and also provide your home address. Sometimes it may not be specified at the very beginning. But then you still have to.

If you do not live at the place of registration or temporary registration, then indicate two addresses - actual and registration. This will help get rid of problems in the future. summary? We will find out examples a little later. In the meantime, let’s take a look at what is worth writing in this document. After your address and personal information, you need to publish your phone number and email. This will help us contact you more quickly when needed in the future.

Among other things, you will also have to indicate your gender, age, desired income level, as well as marital status and date of birth. To be honest, no example of a good resume can exist without these points. So try to be as honest as possible here. And in general, there is nothing special here. As mentioned, this point is the easiest area to fill. Now it's time to move on to more difficult things.

Education

The best resumes, examples (specific) of which we will study a little later, cannot be imagined without such an important point as education. To be honest, if you don’t have one, you may have problems finding a job. After all, now every employer wants to get a truly good and educated subordinate. But there are also exceptions.

As a rule, examples of the best resumes in the "Education" column reflect all the information about your learning throughout your life, starting with school itself. But usually only the fact of graduating from high school (with the year of graduation), as well as the presence of higher education, is indicated here. If you are just learning, this is also worth mentioning.

So, if you need to see an example of a good resume for an engineer, then this item should include secondary school education, as well as training at a technical university. Which one exactly depends on your specialty. Indicate not only the faculty, but also the direction. For example: Moscow State University for the Humanities, "Automation and Control", specialty "Robots and Robotic Systems", terms of study from 2005 to 2010. By the way, the more prestigious your university, the better. Often you can not have any knowledge, but graduate from a good higher education institution. And this will allow you to get a lot of attention from employers. After all, first you will be “met” by your diplomas and application form, and only then by your professional skills and capabilities. So already in adolescence it is worth thinking about your future university.

True, sometimes examples of the best resumes have minor exceptions. In rare cases, in the “Education” column it is enough to simply write “high school” and the place where you studied. In this case, you must have additional knowledge and skills that are confirmed by something. For example, diplomas from olympiads or additional diplomas from courses. In addition, some employers make a “discount” on education if the employee is fully qualified in all other respects. But all this happens extremely rarely. You should not count on such a gift of fate.

Additional education

The next extremely important point is nothing more than the University and the school - this is all, undoubtedly, good. But many employers now want to get real professionals who are comprehensively developed as their subordinates. And therefore, now the best resumes, examples of which can only be found, include a fairly extensive clause of additional education. In principle, you can do without it. But it's better not to. You always need to demonstrate your skills and abilities to the maximum in order to be among the first candidates for a particular vacancy.

Of course, you often have to take into account the place where you want to find a job. So, by the way, if you need an example of a good manager’s resume, then you should not write in it about completing, say, “magician” courses or some kind of entertainment field. This will be redundant. But you need to indicate that you have completed courses in accounting or human resource management. So this is a very important point.

In principle, any example of a good resume includes additional education in the field of computers. If you have it, it will be a huge plus. Especially if you decide to work in an office. In this case, you can sometimes count on a salary increase. But not much. After all, additional duties are often not paid in Russia. Every employer wants to get a universal worker who will do all the work for him and earn pennies. However, if it is more important for you to create a correct and decent resume, then take care of additional education in advance. Remember, this is very important when applying for a particular job.

Previous places of work

It is also important to indicate your previous place of work. More precisely, your entire career ladder. Examples of a good resume for a job usually have a very long list. And without it, difficulties may arise. Especially if you have just graduated from university, but have not previously worked officially. And they didn't even try.

The fact is that without work experience you will be hired reluctantly. Nobody needs an employee who is smart but doesn’t know how to use their skills. Sometimes an employer can make a “discount” on this item, but only if you can prove during the probationary period that you are worthy of attention. An example of a good resume without is not an easy task. And it can only be allowed in adolescence. Well, or don’t count on good wages.

In addition to indicating places and vacancies of work, it is also worth paying attention to the reason for dismissal. Either you write it yourself, or they will ask you during the interview. It's common to ask. In addition, do not forget to indicate the length of your stay in your previous places. And, if you decide to simply change jobs for normal reasons (downsizing, salary level, schedule, etc.), then you can also leave the phone numbers of your previous managers. This will help you provide assurance that someone can vouch for you. That is, tell us what kind of employee you really are. In principle, an example of a good resume for a sales manager, for example, may not contain any official experience or places of work. In this case, tell them that you worked unofficially for certain reasons, and also give the contact information of your previous employer. Ask to contact him for recommendations. You can do without it, but it’s better not to.

Remember, the more experience you have and the smaller your list of jobs, the better. It is important to show that you are a diligent and responsible employee who can work and perform the same tasks for a long time. And your place of work will help you with this. Let's try to figure out what else can be in a good resume, which will be your “calling card” when applying for a job.

Expectations

Quite often, a resume turns out to be not only the “face” of a person, but also his profile. True, not universal. After all, at each workplace you will have to change such an item as expectations from work. In principle, you can do without it. But it's better not to. It will be quite difficult to verbally explain what and why you want. After all, employers will start asking you leading questions. And you can simply get worried and confused. So let's try to figure out which example of a good resume will be extremely effective in this regard.

The point is that the main thing here is not to exaggerate. Of course, everyone wants a high salary. But you shouldn’t start with this right away. After all, this technique can simply scare away the employer. The person will think that you are too arrogant. And this is of no use to us. So the list of expectations should definitely include:

    career growth;

    development of the company;

    friendly team;

    self-development.

Only then should you indicate your salary. And it would be better to write “decent wages.” In this case, it will be clear that you, like everyone else, want to receive a lot. But you are ready to really work for it, and not just sit in the office doing nothing. So in this case, the main thing is to know when to stop. True, often during an interview you will fill out a detailed questionnaire, which includes the “Expectations” item, as well as everything that is in your resume. So it is quite possible that this document, which is prepared in advance for “labor and defense,” will save you time and effort. Try to fill it out as accurately as possible.

Professional skills

An example of creating a good resume is not only about indicating your education or expectations from a new job. First of all, this document is nothing more than a demonstration of yours. By the way, they may not depend on education. Often this phenomenon gives a huge advantage over other applicants. So, try to tell the employer as much as possible about your professional skills.

As you might have guessed, they generally depend on each profession and position. And there is no universal option here. For example, if you need an example of a good manager’s resume, then in this paragraph you should indicate:

    ability to find an approach to people;

    salesmanship;

    the ability to prove that a person needs your product;

In general, it is very difficult to find the right answer here. Ask yourself the question: “What does it take to perform your job duties normally and effectively?” This will help you figure out what to write in professional skills. However, in the case of economists and lawyers, things are a little simpler. It is enough for them to indicate knowledge of legislation, the ability to carry out calculations of varying complexity, and so on. So, this is probably the moment that will cause you the most difficulty. Try to think in advance about what to write here. Otherwise, you will have to spend a very long time explaining to the employer about your skills and abilities.

Personal qualities

Examples of the best resumes, to be honest, always include such a clause as “You can’t do without them.” It is good when the employer has an idea of your education and skills, as well as work experience. But understanding what kind of person you are is also very important. For this reason, every resume should contain a paragraph about personal qualities. Or the features of your character. Here you can additionally answer a few standard survey questions. Just what many employers need.

Of course, you should only indicate the qualities that are important for the job. And here everything largely depends on what position you are applying for. But there is a small standard list of qualities that every employee should have. And in this sense, some potential employees choose the path of lies. They indicate qualities that they do not possess. Sometimes this behavior is acceptable. How to make a good resume? The example must necessarily contain a specific list of character traits. So, the universal personal qualities include:

    responsibility;

    perseverance;

    hard work;

    ability to perform monotonous work for a long time;

    stress resistance;

    calm;

    honesty;

    decency;

    competence;

  • punctuality;

    fast learner;

    honesty;

    culture.

This list can still be supplemented. But these points are mandatory for every employee. Sometimes you may be asked leading questions when filling out the questionnaire. It is also better to indicate them in your resume. What can you write? For example:

    “What will you do if you see that your colleague is cheating or breaking the rules?” - I'll tell the authorities.

    "How do you get rid of stress?" - I drink a cup of tea/coffee/juice, take a bath at home, and so on.

    "Are you ready to deceive for your own benefit?" - No.

    "You have a personal conflict with a colleague. What will you do?" - Avoid unnecessary communication, ignore unnecessarily.

In principle, this is enough. This way, you can emphasize your advantage over others, and also show that you are not some kind of “six”, but a diligent employee. This is now extremely valuable.

Manager

Of course, the most popular vacancy now (especially without work experience) is a manager. Therefore, now we will try to give an example of a decent resume for this employee. Let's pay attention to sales managers. After all, now it is customary to call “managers” almost any person who is engaged in or manages something. So let's get started.

Write your last name, first name and patronymic. You should also write all your personal information here. For example:

    Full name: Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich.

    City of residence: Moscow.

    Address: Moscow, st. Ivan Susanina 32b apt. 64.

    Date of birth: 10/12/1992.

    Gender: male.

    Marital status: Not maried.

    Conclusion

    So today we have seen examples of the best resumes you can imagine. True, in parts. And only the resume of a sales manager was analyzed using a clear example. To be honest, it is worth drawing up this document for any vacancies according to this scheme. Only personal data changes, as well as work experience and education. Otherwise, it’s better to leave everything in the “template” version.

    Remember that your resume plays an important role when applying for a job. And therefore he should pay special attention. Try to set aside a few hours to complete it. Don't forget to also attach your photo to the "Personal Information" section. Appearance also sometimes plays a rather big role. That's all. Now all you have to do is select a vacancy, and then edit a visual example of a resume. You can get a job. So you know how to make a good resume for a job, an example of which can only please you.

    Advice from the author of the book “Crush on the spot. #Summary".
    In this article, you will learn how to create an ideal basic resume for employment services using the example of a site that took a well-deserved first place in hh.ru. HeadHunter is the largest recruiting site where you can find a large database of vacancies, both from large players in the market and from small companies. Also, hh.ru is a popular service in Russia that offers online consultations and training courses to improve your skills.

    I want to immediately warn you about two main things:

    1. The tips in this article only apply to creating a basic resume for the hh.ru website that you want to post publicly on the Internet. You should not respond with such a resume to all vacancies that interest you and hope for invitations to interviews. Please note that I am against this approach and work with clients according to the principle: one vacancy - one resume. This means that you must create a resume for each vacancy and taking into account the requirements posted in it. I call this method reframing the main resume and I have written articles on this topic more than once: and .

    My method only works if you respond with a specialized resume. So, only you can decide what to use: outdated methods of job search, which lead to the fact that the time of employment is delayed and you lose all hope of getting exactly the job you have long dreamed of, or new sales techniques when writing a resume, which will make you competitive in the modern labor market. However, in the second case you will have to sweat a lot.

    With all this, I understand you perfectly and know from my own experience that editing your resume for each new vacancy is a rather labor-intensive and time-consuming process. However, these reasons are not decisive, we all just have a quality that is very poetic about. Therefore, if it is not in your nature to make efforts and achieve your goals, then this article will definitely help you become the first among the laziest applicants. I definitely guarantee this to you. They will ignore this advice too.

    2. If you are actively looking for a job and are ready to post your resume on the Internet in the public domain, then please pay attention to the warning on the HeadHunter website itself: “Your resume will be visible to all employers and recruiting agencies in the search results of the resume database on HeadHunter, and is also available via a direct link to any Internet user. With this setting, your resume may be added to other job search databases and end up on other sites, and the email address from your resume may be included in spam lists.”

    What do HR managers think about this issue?
    “A specialist’s resume in the public domain on job search sites immediately becomes less valuable. The employer understands that the candidate is actively searching, especially if he is already unemployed for some reason. Thus, he may agree to an obviously unsuitable offer or lower his salary expectations. We advise you to keep your resume private and only respond to attractive offers.”

    N!B! Recruiters on websites, including hh.ru, have the opportunity to view all your resumes that you have opened, even if you decide to respond to another resume. Please note that any of your resumes is freely available and visible to those companies to which you apply with other resumes via the link. This is the main mistake of applicants and it is the main reason for refusal.

    There are 2 main reasons that are worth sharing your resume with the world:

    1. You urgently need work and you are in a hopeless situation. In the end, turning from invisible to a real candidate who is open to proposals is not so bad. I myself have more than once changed the visibility of my resume to “available to everyone on the Internet” in situations where I urgently needed to get a job or was ready to move to another city. I often think back to that time in my life, many years ago, when I was having trouble finding a job. My career path was far from easy, but I still managed to achieve what I dreamed about so much. But that’s not about that now. For those who want to know how it ended -

    2. You don’t want to search for a job yourself and confidently believe that luck itself will catch you by the tail. From my experience, I can tell you with confidence that you are unlikely to be able to get a good job in a large company as a passive applicant. Although, everyone should have hope and it is not in my power to take it away from you.

    If my warnings have no effect on you and laziness has taken over you from head to toe, then at least use the tips in this article to create the perfect resume that will not be embarrassing and will help increase your chances of being invited to an interview.

    1. Use a photo of you smiling. This will help you establish the first contact with the recruiter and make a good impression. As you know, a smiley is one of the most recognizable images in the world. The human brain considers your smile separately, and a smile also removes the barrier between strangers. Agree, everyone loves to receive emoticons (from the English emoticon) and the world even celebrates the birthday of the emoticon on September 19. So feel free to choose a photo with a smile, and you will stand out against the background of dull and boring portraits of your competitors. Read about the main rules for choosing photos in the following articles:

    2. Write the exact name of the position you want to get. If you are posting your resume publicly, the title must be the same as the last position you held or the position you are seeking. If you are applying with a profile resume for a specific vacancy, then change the name of the desired position in accordance with the position specified in the vacancy.

    3. Indicate the salary level. This advice applies only to candidates at the “specialist” level. By opening your resume, your goal is to increase not only the number of views, but also to receive invitations for interviews. Recruiters will give preference to a candidate whose resume will already indicate the salary amount, rather than waste time calling each applicant for clarification. In any case, this will be the first question on the list: To do this, really evaluate yourself as a professional and research the labor market. You can find out how to do this in my book or from the free course newsletter

    4. Contacts for communication. Be sure to leave both your phone number and email address. mail - forget about katti56 or svetlanka12; create a new email with your initials, for example raisasorokina@ (the same applies to your Skype nickname); It is better to choose the priority for communication: telephone.

    5. Select in the “Moving” column - impossible. If you are looking for a job in another city, then indicate the new search city in the resume itself. If moving is not part of your plans, then it is better not to check this box. This may characterize you as an unstable employee, ready to snap at any moment.

    6. Work experience: indicate no more than 3-4 key places of work, which more favorably reflect your professional competencies and are directly related to your position and field. However, do not make the most common mistake: AFocus not on your job responsibilities, but on your achievements.Describe your results using the main KPIs ( Key Performance Indicators - key performance indicators).

    For example:
    “Increased the number of category A clients by 20% in the first 3 months of work.”
    “I reduced the time for preparing reports by 40% for the 1st quarter.”
    “I reduced the processing time for applications from 5 days to 2, while reducing the amount of errors to 2% by the end of the year.”

    These are the resumes that make it to the TOP during the initial selection. Adhere to the ideal proportion in the description of each job: 50 to 50. For example, if you list 3 job responsibilities, then do not forget to include 3 achievements. This way, you can reduce the list of responsibilities and not get carried away by a description of your responsibilities that no one needs. Remember: if you want to include a long list of your deeds, you must balance it with an equally impressive list of your accomplishments. Everything else will have absolutely no meaning.

    Download chapter from the book: Examples for the “About Me” section.

    8. Recommendations - it’s better not to insert. Many people often write: upon request. It's obvious. If it is important for the HR manager to receive recommendations from you, he himself will remind you of this at the very first telephone interview. If not, your references may not even be asked for.

    9. Education: I recommend attaching photos of diplomas, certificates, diplomas, awards. There is a special section “Electronic Certificates” for this purpose. Don’t forget to indicate electronic courses in the “Advanced training and courses” section, for example, if you have independently mastered programming or web design skills, then be sure to indicate this.

    10. Portfolio: if there is a need in your specialty, be sure to post the best works or links to them.

    11. Skills: the most important ones for your position. An experienced PC, Word, Excel user should not write. This will not surprise anyone in the 21st century. Here you need to indicate your professional competencies, relating only to your position.

    12. Additional information: If you have a license, a car - this, of course, will also not be superfluous. Knowledge of languages: if you have it, choose your level of proficiency. Hobbies should not be listed at all unless they are related to your professional experience. Everything is simple here.

    13. The resume should be no more than 2 pages. Only top managers with great expertise can afford 3 pages.

    Now check your resume and print it out if possible. If you have more than 2 pages, make a revision: remove unnecessary job responsibilities, spaces between lines, and relevant work experience. Give priority to experience working in large companies over the past 5-7 years or longer. Nobody forces you to write an autobiography or rewrite your work book. Moreover, you could have experience working part-time without official employment. And if it is of greater importance, then it is worth giving preference to it.

    14. Write only the truth and nothing but the truth. It is better not to include something and embellish it than to lie.

    15. The most important advice. If you decide to change the visibility of your resume to “open to everyone,” then do everything necessary to make it attractive to recruiters and marketable in order to increase your chances of being invited. To do this, check again whether you have taken my advice.

    P.S. For those who have not yet reached the extreme point of no return, I highly recommend using my last advice under number 16 : Do not open your resume to everyone, but carefully research the needs of each posted vacancy, and create a specialized resume,
