This question is similar in meaning, for example, to this question: is it worth going to a circus school? Or is it worth becoming a monk? Why do I think these questions are similar? Because yoga is just akin to circus art or monasticism. Or rather, both together.

First of all, yoga is a way of life. It takes away all 24 hours a day from a person. This is a kind of religion, a school, and, as I said, a way of life. Yoga unites the body, thoughts and soul, and therefore, it will need to give both body, soul, and thoughts. Are you ready for this? Somehow I doubt it. Otherwise, there is no need to fence the garden. Just as someone who does not intend to completely part with worldly life should not become a monk.

You can say that all you need from yoga is exercise. Let's assume this is true. Although asanas without a soul are just a kind of gymnastic exercises, nothing more. They will be of little use. However, you want to try. Does this even make any sense?

And I will say no again. Because yoga “exercises” are extremely difficult to perform and carry a high risk of injury. When performing some exercises, such as the one-leg stand, people lose their balance and fall. The second most common injury is ligament damage when performing various asanas (yoga poses). When trying to sit in the lotus position or any other position, you don’t need to put too much pressure and pull your legs. Otherwise, you risk getting a muscle and/or tendon strain.

If you want to stretch, it’s better to do stretching. From my point of view, this is much more effective. Or if you have already planned training for the rest of your life, go to a circus school. There's plenty of it there. Just remember that the “circus people” have a completely different life. Keep this in mind.

But let’s say that you have a lot of free time and inherited money. And you want to devote yourself to yoga completely and completely. Let yoga become your way of life. What could I say in this case? - Yes, the same thing, no!
