Conversation about snails

Leading:
Mystery
Always in your own house,
He even wears it when visiting...
There are horns, but not butting,
And it sticks to your palm.

(Answer: snail)

Leading:

Can a snail be called an insect?

Children:
No. She does not have 6 legs, like all insects.

Leading:
Yes you are right. A snail is a gastropod mollusk with an external shell.
Why does she need it?

Children:
The snail hides in it in case of danger.

Leading:
And with the onset of cold weather, the mollusk looks for a secluded place in the ground or under the leaves. Then it pulls its leg and head into the shell, and at the entrance site the snail secretes special mucus, which hardens over time. In such a safe place, she is not afraid of either the cold or enemies.
How does a snail move?

Children:
She's crawling.

Leading:
Indeed, the snail is one of the slowest creatures on our planet. But its method of movement is also unique in that it does not just crawl, but “slides” through the mucus that it secretes. Interestingly, thanks to this trick, she can crawl along the sharp blade of a knife and not get hurt.
The snail has another secret. You know that deer and elk have antlers that are powerful weapons. Why does a snail need horns?

Children:
With their help she sees.

Leading:
In fact, the horns are two pairs of tentacles. One small pair is the antennae that the snail uses to sniff. The second large pair are eyes. The antennae horns of snails are very sensitive: if they accidentally touch any object, the snail immediately removes them inside.

Additional Information

Snails appeared on Earth about 600 million years ago. This allows us to consider them one of the most ancient inhabitants of our planet, along with jellyfish.
The average lifespan of snails is 15 years. This is comparable to the life expectancy of, for example, the Amur tiger.
Snails do not chew, but grind food with 25 thousand teeth. This is a record - they have more teeth than any shark. The teeth are arranged in rows on the tongue, very similar to a grater.
Snails communicate with each other using touch.
Snails are capable of carrying objects 10 times heavier than themselves.

Master Class:

Roll a sausage out of brown plasticine. This will be the snail's leg.

We sculpt a ball - the head of a snail. We pull out the horns (one pair is possible). We mold a leaf or blade of grass and put it in the snail’s mouth.

Let's get to the fun part - mixing the colors of the plasticine. Mix the pieces of different colors thoroughly. Let's make a long sausage.

Roll the sausage into a spiral.

We fasten the parts. We lift the snail's head so that it stands, resting on its foot - the sole.

We decorate the pebble. Using plasticine we attach twigs and cones.

Well done! Our work is ready.

Funny snails on a green lawn made of plasticine

I thought it was a snail

Unable to run quickly

Just crawl, slowly,

Quiet leaves rustling.

But creeping is not illness,

For a snail, this is speed.

Here it is again in front of you,

Barely moving, he lies...

No, I was wrong, he’s running!

Materials: green cardboard, plasticine, stack, modeling board.

Progress

To make a shell for a snail, roll out a long sausage from brightly colored plasticine.

Let's roll it up like a spiral.

Let's make the snail's body a different color. Roll out a short sausage from a small piece of plasticine.

Let's bend the torso and flatten it below.

Let's connect the body and the shell.

For the eyes we will need two small white balls and two even smaller black balls. The mouth is a red ball.

To make a hat, roll out two balls, one larger and one smaller.

Let's flatten the big ball with the small one.

Let's put a cap on the snail. The snail is ready.

Let's make another snail similar to the first one. Let's place them in a clearing made of cardboard. Let's decorate the clearing with flowers.

Usually, at the end of spring there is a radical invasion of snails. They crawl everywhere in the grass, try to crawl onto trees and walls of buildings. In general, there is no child who has never seen a live snail, watched how slowly it crawls and looks around with funny little eyes and horns. Since the snail is familiar to children, it will be very interesting to mold it from plasticine. Everyone knows that this animal is the slowest, carries a house on its back and moves using suction cups, not legs. Imagine with your children about creating a snail from plasticine, because this craft is the easiest and most popular, and we, in turn, will give some tips.

How to make a snail from plasticine

To sculpt the snail we used:

  • red and yellow plasticine;
  • stack;
  • two matches;
  • white and blue droplets.

1. We prepared red and yellow plasticine for work, but to create the body of the snail itself we used orange. It is not worth taking additionally, because this shade is obtained by mixing these two above-mentioned blocks. The child will be interested in playing with colors, varying their saturation, creating a new mass.

2. So, prepare red and yellow for sculpting the shell, and also mix these shades separately for the body.

3. Turn the first basic pieces into tubes (sausages).

4. Connect the sausages on one side and twist them in the form of a flagellum.

5. Flatten the resulting two-color sausage by placing it between your palms.

6. Create a snail shell-house by twisting the resulting sausage with your fingers.

7. Mash the orange piece prepared to create the body in your hands. Make a wide sausage. Lift one end up and leave it unchanged, and flatten the other with your fingers, forming a body with suction cups, thanks to which the animal moves.

8. Attach the shell on top by pressing on the plasticine.

9. And the last part of the snail’s body is funny eyes. They should be located high above your head. To sculpt them, use matches and small white balls. Stick balls on the ends of the matches, attach the opposite ends to the head, add blue pupils.

Now you can send the snail on a slow journey, play with it, or plant it in a flower pot.

In damp rainy weather, a lot of different snails appear on the street. Children absolutely love watching them, picking them up and examining them. Therefore, they will welcome the idea of making a snail from plasticine with delight. In the future, children will be able to play with handmade crafts in the same way as with ordinary toys.

Prepare all the necessary materials for sculpting a snail:

  • plasticine;
  • ball pen;
  • plastic knife;
  • skewer.
  • How to make a snail from plasticine

    Step 1. Prepare blocks of plasticine in three shades you like. We decided to create an original snail in bright and contrasting colors. To sculpt the shell we will use bright pink and lilac plasticine, and to create the body and horns we will use orange. First of all, you need to create the snail body. Roll out a ball of orange plasticine with a diameter of 5-7 cm.

    Step 2. Roll it out with your palms into a thick sausage. Let's make one of its ends a little thinner.

    Step 3. Flatten the sides of the workpiece with your fingers to form thin edges. The snail base is ready.

    Step 4. Now let's start creating the sink. In order for us to get a beautiful marble pattern on a shell, we need to connect together two pieces of plasticine of different shades, in our case, bright pink and purple. Roll the resulting mass into a ball.

    Then we create a long sausage out of it. We start twisting it from the thin tip.

    Step 5. Attach the shell in the middle of the body.

    Step 6. Bend the tip up. Use your fingers to give it a rounded shape.

    Step 7. Use a skewer to give smooth curves to the thin edges of the base.

    Step 8. Prepare a thin sausage from orange plasticine. We bend it in half and then attach it to the snail’s head. We twist their ends a little.

    Step 9. Now to create the texture we need a ballpoint pen. We take out the paste, and then use a metal tip to press the texture onto the snail’s body.

    Step 10. Next we need to create several plasticine flowers to decorate the snail. Roll a ball of small diameter (5-7mm).

    Today I will tell you how to make a snail from plasticine with your own hands; as usual, I will do a master class in a step-by-step form and provide a photo. In addition to snails, it is necessary to create decorations for them, namely flowers. The homemade product is of average complexity, it will be difficult for children, so parents must definitely help them. It will be especially difficult to choose the necessary colors to create snails and flowers. A total of nine colors of plasticine will be used; we have never used so many before. Pink, orange, red, green, blue, beige, lilac, white and black. Now let's get started with the product, which took about forty minutes.

    We prepared all the necessary colors of plasticine, along with a plastic knife.

    From the very beginning we will make the shell for the snail. Roll out a long lilac sausage.

    Twist it like this, very much like a shell.

    Bend it in the middle at 90 degrees, making a small arc.

    Press one edge with your finger. Or rather, you need to flatten it and make a small depression.

    This is what should happen.

    We combine the shell and body.

    Since our snail will be a child’s one, make eyes and a mouth. Roll two white balls, two black and one orange.

    We place the black balls on the white ones that have been flattened. We got eyes.

    Glue the eyes onto the head and then the mouth and make a small cut with a knife.

    Now let's decorate our creation even more and blind it. We will need two blue balls, one larger and the other smaller.

    The larger ball needs to be slightly flattened.

    Green balls need to be flattened.

    It is not necessary that the green blanks be the same size.

    Glue three leaves on two large flowers, and two on the orange one.

    We make the second snail in the same way, only we make the green body, red shell and cap in a twisted form like the flowers.

    This is how the crafts turned out; it’s not difficult to make snails from plasticine with your own hands.
