  2. Using pure water, you can prepare various compotes or fruit drinks, dilute water with jam, make herbal teas and decoctions. You can make drinks from homemade jam or marmalade. All of them enrich your body with useful substances: microelements and vitamins.
  3. Of course, it is very useful for pregnant women to drink all kinds of juices, and it is advisable that they are freshly squeezed, that is, they do not contain preservatives.
  4. For coffee lovers, we strongly recommend replacing it with chicory. This drink with a mild taste, reminiscent of coffee, only without caffeine, is not only possible for pregnant women to drink, but even beneficial. Chicory has a calming effect on the nervous system and improves metabolism in the body, and in addition, it contains a large amount of vitamins and microelements.

Herbal teas during pregnancy

Herbal teas are a completely different matter. The fact is that you cannot predict in advance which particular herb will affect you in what way; among them there are many that can cause you an allergy. However, there are many herbs that do provide great benefits in some cases. For example, ginger tea will help with toxicosis, motherwort and hawthorn will relieve swelling, rhubarb has a mild laxative effect. Not all the liquid you consume can be beneficial for your body, so from the very beginning of pregnancy you need to understand what you really should drink so that the drink is truly completely processed and does not hang around in your tissues as meaningless and harmful edema.

Is it possible to drink coffee during pregnancy?

Everyone knows that coffee contains caffeine, which is not at all beneficial during pregnancy. Instant coffee in this sense is even worse than natural coffee; in addition, it contains various chemical additives that make it soluble.

Coffee not only does not replenish fluid reserves in the body, but it also has a pronounced diuretic effect, which means that it also removes the fluid you need. So, if you only drink one cup of coffee, you'll have to make up for it with a few extra glasses of water. Well, in addition, caffeine, which is contained in coffee, leads to increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, which is not beneficial for the expectant mother.

Caffeine is a drug, only a weak one, so during pregnancy it is not recommended to drink more than 1 cup of coffee per day. Otherwise, you risk developing a caffeine addiction in your unborn baby.

Is it possible to drink tea during pregnancy?

Strong tea contains a large amount of caffeine, so you should drink it diluted and not get too carried away with it. This fully applies to green tea, which is in no way inferior to black tea in terms of strength and caffeine content. On the other hand, green tea also contains quite a lot of all sorts of useful substances, trace elements and bioflavonoids. Therefore, if you cannot drink very weak black tea, give preference to green tea. Of course, it contains a large amount of useful substances, but you should drink green tea during pregnancy with a fair amount of caution, diluting it with clean boiled water from a kettle.

Is it possible to drink cocoa during pregnancy?

Such a healthy drink, beloved by many since childhood, is at the same time a strong allergen. And cases of allergic reactions to it are even more common than to citrus fruits. Therefore, you need to drink it with caution, even if you have not had any allergies to it before - after all, pregnant women experience hormonal changes. And, in addition, you need to know that cocoa helps remove calcium from the body. So if you want to treat yourself to this delicious drink, limit yourself to one cup, say, in the morning or at night.

Is it possible to drink carbonated drinks during pregnancy?

All kinds of carbonated drinks, synthetic lemonades and tonics, especially sweet ones containing chemical dyes, should be completely excluded from a pregnant woman’s diet.
