Since childhood I have loved to draw. I once dreamed of becoming an artist, but it didn’t work out. Children's dreams often don't come true. But that doesn't mean they are useless.

I studied at art school for two years. At the linocut department, I did not qualify for painting in the competition. We learned to make illustrations for books and children's fairy tales.

It was probably not as interesting to me as painting. Although we, of course, also drew. But cutting out details of a future illustration on linoleum with small tools did not seem to me a very exciting activity.

Winter in the forest, my drawing

And although the teacher praised my works, and they were even exhibited at an exhibition in the art gallery on the embankment (alas, this building has long been demolished, like many things in Rostov), I still envied those who went to the painting department.

Then my vision began to deteriorate. I don't think it had anything to do with drawing. But doctors advised me to reduce the strain on my eyesight. And that was the end of my art education.

I still had long hours of music lessons left. Sometimes by candlelight, because when I was a child the lights were often turned off in the city. But, apparently, this did not harm the vision... Although the tiny bird-notes on the wires of the staff still need to be seen in the wavering light of the candles...

But that's not what I'm talking about.

I never became an artist. Just like I didn’t become a musician. But I think nothing in life is in vain. I still love to draw and do it with great pleasure with my kids.

Snowman, my drawing

My daughter and I often draw the same thing. I set the theme of the drawing, she tries to repeat the same thing. And I really like it when she draws herself, without my help.

Snowman, drawing by my daughter, 6 years old

Sometimes she says that she wants to become an artist. And I immediately remember my childhood. And I think - well, what difference does it make who we become? The main thing is that our activities give us pleasure.

And we like to draw.

Do you like our drawings? And be careful not to confuse who is whose. 😉 I also draw in a slightly childish style. Because in order to see the world as it is, I have eyes and a camera. And the drawings are just fantasy. And I give her free rein...

Do you draw? I'm very interested in whether my readers like to draw. How do you draw, professionally or like children? Do you like to draw in general? Please vote in a quick anonymous poll by choosing yes or no

If you have some leaves left over from the fall, use them to create beautiful pictures of a snow-covered forest. Place the leaves on newspaper and paint them with white gouache or acrylic paint. Then carefully stamp the leaves onto the paper, pressing them tightly with a napkin.

Using white wax crayon, draw any image on white paper: snowflakes, houses, a spruce branch, a snowman, or an abstract pattern. For kids, you can make small cards with simple figures or animals drawn. Or write some message.

Wet the paper with water and invite the child to paint over the white sheet with paint (it is better to use acrylic paint or watercolor diluted with water). The white wax lines will remain unpainted and an image will appear on the sheet.

Offer your child an interesting experiment - draw a picture with “ice” crystals! To do this, you will need several bags of magnesium sulfate (magnesia), which can be bought at any pharmacy.

To prepare paint for painting, pour a little hot water (1-2 cm) into plastic cups and, stirring, pour magnesia powder into the water. Stir until the powder is completely dissolved and an insoluble sediment appears at the bottom.

Tint the resulting liquid with watercolors. Prepare several flowers at once.

Wet the sheet with a wide brush or sponge and start painting. As the paint dries, crystals will begin to appear, and the drawing will be covered with a unique ice pattern.

  • You can paint with one paint or mix several colors.
  • You can draw snowflakes on dry paper with a cotton swab.
  • The finished picture, drawn with crayons, pencils or acrylic paints, can be coated with a colorless solution of “ice paint”.
  • Unused paint can be left, and after a while large crystals will begin to form in the cups.
  • If you want to preserve the resulting design, cover it with varnish.

Wet a sheet of thick paper with water and apply liquid paint to it. Place a crumpled plastic bag, usually used for food, over the paint and leave it on the paper until the paint is completely dry.

Then remove the bag and you will see an amazing frosty design.

To draw using this technique, it is best to use a kitchen tray. You can also use glass, plastic napkins for plates and glossy cardboard from packaging.

Apply liquid paint to a smooth substrate or mix paint directly onto it. Depending on what you have in mind, you can use one or several colors. If necessary, the paint on the tray can be sprayed with water.

Place a piece of paper on the paint tray and press it down with your hand, then gently lift it up.

A unique design will be printed on the sheet, which can be further refined by drawing on the necessary details.

Hello dear friends and guests!
Autumn has shed its outfits, the masquerade is over.
Our old garden became sad, gray and empty.
And a string trembled in my soul with a sad note...
We've already been waiting for you, Mother Winter!

That night she rushed, and with all her relatives,
With my dear daughter the blizzard, with my auntie the blizzard.
Following them is an evil blizzard with his friend,
With a cold north wind and thick snow.

She looked around in a businesslike manner and got down to business right away.
Weaved lace from intricate patterns
And she hung a fabulous outfit on the branches.
Our garden sparkled with silver muslin.

Gave the slender fir trees white coats
And wrapped the trees in snow coats.
She pulled her hats down onto the roofs - white fluff,

Her magical pranks took your breath away.
The autumn sadness disappeared, the darkness disappeared in an instant.
Mother Winter enchanted everyone with her beauty!
(Valentina Romashkina-Korshunova)

Snow-white creaking snow underfoot, fluffy snowflakes, icicles shimmering with blue and purple colors - these are all the pranks of Mother Winter. She also has her own ice palace, full of various miracles.
In the cozy bedroom everything is as it should be - a bed with high feather beds and winter pillows - whatever Winter sleeps on, such will be the weather, on this wonderful bed under the snow feather feathers the grass hides until spring.

The most mysterious and favorite place in her house is the basement, in which Winter keeps pickled northern lights, snowflake jam, salted snowballs in a birch tub and pickled icicles, and many other supplies in reserve.

Mother Winter is a real artist; she loves to draw frosty patterns and lace. She paints with special icy paints. Winter loves very blue, cyan, purple and white colors and for this they are called cold colors.

But he is very afraid of warm, sunny colors, these are the colors with which the sun can be painted - yellow, orange, red, Winter is afraid of melting from the heat and turning into a puddle.

Even in his dining room, he treats guests to special tea with snowflakes. And Zima’s dishes are unusually beautiful, snow-white, with blue and light blue patterns - called “Gzhel”.
Lives in Rus' for centuries
The craft is ancient.
Generations of masters
White and blue Gzhel...

I found out that Mother Winter's birthday is coming soon!
At least believe it, at least check it: on the night of December 21-22, 1882, there was a strong snowstorm and in the village of Sibir, Yarensky district (three kilometers from Yarensk), Father Frost and Mother Metelitsa had a daughter, and they named her Zimushka.
Today we will give Zimushka a gift, set the table with a tea set with beautiful cold patterns of flowers. Welcome to our creative workshop!

Materials and tools:
-sheet of A3 paper
-brushes
-cotton buds
-gouache
-cloth for arms and hands
-palette
-water jar

Progress of the master class:

We begin work on a gift for Mother Winter by drawing a table covered with a blue tablecloth.
Give the brush some water, carefully put blue color on its bristles, and wipe off the excess paint on the edge of the jar. Then draw a blue horizontal line at the bottom of the sheet.

We paint the entire space of the sheet after the line in this color, with long horizontal strokes.

Since we are not “wizards” yet, but are just learning, a rag will help us make the tablecloth beautiful. We will carefully rub the color layer in the drawing.
Then the real magic begins, let's draw a blue blot. Wash the brush and add white paint to it. We add white color to the blue blot and begin to mix the colors, saying the magic words: “I twist and twist, I want to confuse.”

Gradually our blot turns into a round, pale blue circle, or a ball, or maybe a snowball! But they didn’t guess right!

This is a teapot for magical tea with snowflakes!
Draw a blue lid for the teapot. You need to attach the brush with all its bristles to the top of the circle and stretch it a little along the design of the teapot, and then draw a circle on the lid.

We will also draw the spout of the teapot in blue. Not far from the teapot, we apply the brush to the leaf, and “roll” the brush a little over the drawing so that it meets the teapot.

It's time to draw a mug, it looks like a square. You can choose any color, just not warm, so that Winter does not melt.

We took dark blue, added white, did a little magic and got a beautiful light blue mug. And the handle and saucer were painted in dark blue.

At the bottom of the picture we decorated the tablecloth with a blue border line.

We got a little naughty - painted with our fingers and decorated the tablecloth with white snowballs. Using cotton swabs we drew blue snowflake dots on the white background of our drawing. And white striped border decoration.

We also prepared a surprise for Zimushka. On the palette we turned the green color into a cold color, added blue paint to it, and we got an emerald color. We used it to draw a plate and draw two horizontal lines next to each other.

They put a treat on a plate - pickled snowballs and ice cubes.
To draw circles you need to place a brush on the drawing and twist it around yourself.

Now let's draw with our fingers again. We will draw Zimushka’s favorite patterns, blue-blue Gzhel flowers. First, we put a blue dot in the drawing and draw rays from it in different directions, then white rays - you get a flower.
